Jazz in the City Debuted in Denver on October 18, 2025

Brings together Grammy Award-winning guitarist Norman Brown, acclaimed guitarist Ron Bosse, and contemporary jazz stars Paul Taylor & Tony Exum Jr.

Denver, CO – On October 18, 2025, Denver will host the world premiere of Jazz in the City, a bold new concert series that blends world-class live performance, state-of-the-art filming and world-class audio mixing, and a multi-dimensional experience that redefines how audiences connect with jazz. Jazz in the City brings together Grammy Award-winning guitarist Norman Brown, acclaimed guitarist Ron Bosse, and Denver’s own celebrated saxophonists Paul Taylor and Tony Exum Jr. for a landmark event in contemporary jazz.

  • Celebrates Friendship & Collaboration – Born from the bond between two guitarists, Norman Brown and Ron Bosse, and expanded into a summit of world-class musicians. In association with promoter Pat Duncan, the vision has grown into a dynamic concert series designed to thrive and expand.
  • Reimagines Jazz for Today – Each concert is captured by a world-class production team with state-of-the-art multi-camera filming, world-class audio mixing, and professional editing. These performances are crafted into content that allows the magic of the live show to reach new audiences worldwide as part of a multi-dimensional experience.
  • Expands the Experience Beyond the Stage – Norman and Ron bring their passion for teaching and dialogue into the series with optional masterclasses in guitar, songwriting, and music appreciation at concert venues when possible. In addition, they film exclusive conversations with locally known cultural figures in each city, releasing the interviews online in both short-form and long-form formats.

RON BOSSE

Boston-based guitarist and composer Ron Bosse has performed and recorded with numerous jazz legends throughout the United States and Canada, including Dave Liebman, Bob Mintzer, and George Garzone. He’s received critical acclaim for his work in publications like Jazz Times, Downbeat, and the New York Times. His collaborations extend to fellow artists like Grammy-winning guitarist Norman Brown, with whom he released a series of duet performances and instructional videos in 2017. Beyond performing, Bosse is also a dedicated educator and entrepreneur, launching his online music instruction platform, Bosse Online, in 2019. In 2020, he began working with Grammy winner Jeff Lorber on his solo album, “Burning Room Only.”

TONY EXUM JR.

Saxophonist Tony Exum Jr. has made a significant impact on the contemporary jazz, R&B, and funk scenes with his soulful sound. His rise to prominence was fueled by the 2019 single “My Name’s Tony,” which charted for 12 weeks on the Smooth Jazz Network. Tony has graced the stage at major festivals like the San Diego Smooth Jazz Festival and the Berks Jazz Festival, sharing performances with notable artists such as Najee and Adam Hawley. In addition to his two acclaimed albums, “Finally” and “The One,” his 2022 single “Everything” reached #19 on the Urban Influencer R&B Soul Chart, while his 2023 release, “Hold My Hand,” topped the Urban Influencer Smooth Jazz Chart. Beyond performing and recording, Tony hosts a radio show on Jazz 93.5 FM, and in 2024, he was featured on the track “I Wanna Be Closer,” which earned an Indie Soul Awards nomination.

NORMAN BROWN

Grammy-winning guitarist and multi-platinum artist Norman Brown has been captivating international audiences for over four decades with his soulful, virtuosic playing. Praised by the legendary George Benson as “one of the greatest and most articulate guitarists out there,” Brown has collaborated with a who’s who of musicians, including Dave Koz, Jeff Lorber, and Kirk Whalum. His discography includes classic albums like the Grammy-winning “Just Chillin’” and the Soul Train award-winning “After The Storm.” In addition to his solo work, he is also a member of the supergroup BWB alongside Kirk Whalum and Rick Braun. A prolific and spiritual artist, Brown’s latest album, “It Hits Different,” released in 2024, showcases his signature blend of jazz, R&B, funk, and pop, with standout tracks like “Anything” and “Ausur.” Brown’s music is deeply connected to his philosophy of “balance” and his commitment to using his artistry to bring people together.

PAUL TAYLOR

A Denver native and accomplished saxophonist, Paul Taylor has had an impressive career, marked by multiple Billboard #1 hits and collaborations with a wide range of artists, including Regina Belle, Peabo Bryson, and Keiko Matsui. His passion for the saxophone began in childhood, where he was heavily influenced by jazz legends like Grover Washington Jr. His dedication is showcased on his 13th album, “It’s A Brand New Day,” which he co-wrote with long-time musical collaborator Dino Esposito. The album features ten tracks, including nine originals and a captivating cover of Billie Eilish’s “Chihiro,” and reflects Taylor’s commitment to giving his fans an optimistic and joyful listening experience.
